DEPLOYMENT
Split the table into four quarters and roll-off to see which player picks the quarter they will deploy in. The opposing player deploys in the opposite table quarter.

Each player deploys 1 HQ and 2 Troops. The rest of their forces are placed in reserve.

FIRST TURN
The player who deployed first takes the first turn. The opponent player can attempt to Seize the Initiative (pg 132).

GAME LENGTH
The mission uses the Variable Game Length (pg 133).

VICTORY CONDITIONS
At the end of the game the player that has captured the most objectives is the winner.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
Set-up D3+2 objective markers before either side deploys or rolls for their deployment area. The player who won the roll-off sets-up the first objective, then the enemy player, and so on until the requisite number of markers has been placed. Objectives may be set up anywhere on the table more than 12’’ from a table edge or another objective.

MISSION SPECIAL RULES
Loot & Salvage Points: Each player collects one loot or salvage point (as they prefer) at the end of their opponent’s turn for each objective marker that has one of their units touching it, as long as the unit is neither falling back or engaged in close combat. Note that you collect the points in your opponent’s turn rather than you own.

If one player fields Chaos Space Marines he gets to set-up objective first, to deploy first and to play the first turn.
