Games Workshop has released a new boardgame called "Lost Patrol", set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. It is a game designed to be played by two playes. One player gets a 5-man strong Blood Angels Chapter Scout Squad and the other player gets a dozen Genestealeres.
The game is set in the jungles of the planet Moraz III. The Blood Angels Scout Squad must locate a crashed dropship which contains vital surveillance files. Once target is found they must activate the dropship to escape. But on the deathworld of Moraz III another enemy is lurking, Genestealers. In order to succeed, the Blood Angels must kill any Genestelers the cross with and avoid to get lost in the jungle.
The duration of the game is 30'.
The Space Marine's player wins the game when he has at the end of any turn one or more Scouts in the tile with the dropship.
The Genestealer player wins if all Scouts are killed or trapped in the jungle.
The game contains:
- 5 Space Marines Scouts (1 Sergeant, 1 Space Marine with Heavy Weapon, 3 Space Marines)
- 30 Tiles (28 jungle, 1 clearing, 1 dropship)
- 12 Genestealers
- 6 Infestations
- 3 Dice
SETTING UP
To start the game, decide who will take the Space Marines Scouts and who will take the Genestealers. If you can't decide, roll a dice- the higher scoring player takes the Scouts.
Place the Clearing tile in the centre of the table and put the five Space Marines Scouts on it. This may be a tight fit, but don't worry, the Scouts will soon spread out as they search their surroundings. Next, shuffle the Jungle Tiles and place them in a stack face down. Place the Dropship tile at the very bottom of the Jungle tile stack after has been shuffled.
All the Genestealers and Infestation models are gathered together and placed where Genestealer player can easily reach them. Finally, the Genestealer player places all the jungle paths the Space Marines can see from the Clearing. Once the paths are placed, the first turn begins.

Το παιγνίδι εξελίσσεται στις ζούγκλες του πλανήτη Moraz III. Οι Blood Angels Scouts πρέπει να βρουν ένα κατεστραμμένο dropship το οποίο περιέχει ζωτικής σημασίας αρχεία επιτήρησης. Από την στιγμή που εντοπίσουν τον στόχο τους θα πρέπει να ενεργοποιήσουν το dropship ώστε να ξεφύγουν. Όμως στον πλανήτη δεν βρίσκονται μόνοι τους. Ένας ακόμη εχθρός παραμονεύει, οι Genestealers. Για να καταφέρουν να ολοκληρώσουν την αποστολή τους, οι Blood Angels θα πρέπει να σκοτώσουν όλους τους Genestealers που θα βρεθούν αντιμέτωποι με και θα πρέπει να μην χαθούν μέσα στην ζούγκλα.
Η διάρκεια του παιγνιδιού είναι 30'.
Ο παίκτης που παίζει τους Space Marine κερδίζει το παιγνίδι εάν ένας ή παραπάνω Scouts βρεθούν στο τέλος ενός γύρο στο πλακίδιο με το dropship.
Ο παίκτης που παίζει τους Genestealer κερδίζει το παιγνίδι εάν όλοι Scouts σκοτωθούν ή χαθούν στην ζούγκλα.
Το παιγνίδι περιέχει:

Τοποθετήστε το Ξέφωτο στο κέντρο του τραπεζιού και τοποθετήστε επάνω του τους πέντε Space Marines Scouts. Μην ανησυχείτε εάν δεν χωρούν. Σύντομα θα απλωθούν ανιχνεύοντας το περιβάλλον γύρω τους. Μετά, ανακατέψτε τα πλακίδια της Ζούγκλας και τοποθετήστε τα με την πλάτη επάνω. Μετά, τοποθετήστε το πλακίδιο Dropship στο τέλος της στοίβας.
Όλα τα μοντέλα Genestealers και Infestations τοποθετούνται μαζί και κάπου που να έχει εύκολη πρόσβαση σε αυτό ο παίκτης που παίζει τους Genestealers. Στην συνέχει ο παίκτης που παίζει τους Genestealers τοποθετεί τα πλακίδια της Ζούγκλας γύρω από το Ξέφωτο δημιουργώντας μονοπάτια στα οποία οι Space Marines Scouts μπορούν να έχουν οπτική επαφή. Μετά από αυτό το στάδιο ο πρώτος γύρος ξεκινά.
