Munchkin Cthulhu (eng)

Munchkin Cthulhu is an exciting, crazy and much enjoyable game with non-collectible cards, designed by Steve Jackson and illustrated by John Covalic. The "non-collectible cards" means that everything you need is included in the package. Since I'm fond of the Cthulhu Mythos I had not missed the chance when I saw it and I bought it. It's a typical game Munchkin (rules, setup), but adapted for a Cthulhu environment.

The players have the opportunity to explore rooms, encounter monsters (such as the H. P. Munchcraft), win treasures, seek help, or running to escape! They can also be a Professor, a Cultist, an Investigator, Monster Whacker or even change sex!

There are 4 expansions of the game in existance!

The main game consists of 168 cards, a unique dice and a rules booklet.

The game is for three to six players.

You will need 10 tokens (or 10-sided dice) for each player, to represent their levels.

The first player who reaches level 10 is the winner.

You can be the winner of the game if all players become cultists. The player (or players) with the highest level becomes the winner.

If all players become Cultists except one, that player gains immidiately one level. That can be the last level needed, thus becoming the winner!

There are 4 cardinal rules in Cthulhu Munchkin:
1. Nothing can reduce a player below level1, although card effectsmight reduce a player's or monster's combat strength below 1.

2. You go up a level after combat only if you kill a monster.

3. You cannot collect rewards for defeating a monster (eg., Treasure, levels) in the middle of a combat. You must finish the fight before gaining any rewards.

4. You must kill a monster to reach Level 10.

The game costs 25 Euros/USD.
